The Oath wins the Noir Award

The jury, composed of actor and director Pascal Bonitzer, director Renato De Maria, producer Emma Lustres, actress Laure Marsac and singer-songwriter Chiara Civello, has assigned the following awards to the films in the International Competition:

Noir Award for Best Film
For the sublime skill with which the director, who also acted in and produced the film, was able to portray the drama of a man forced to confront his own contradictions, in a highly personal style that shows Kormákur’s mastery of the visual and dramaturgical aspects of the film medium.

Noir Award Jury Special Mention
An ambitious project, perfectly wrought, which draws audiences into a complex narrative based on a true story, mixing entertainment, a fast pace, superb writing and a talented cast.

Noir Award for Best Performance by an Actor or Actress
Romain Duris in the role of Max Lopez in Iris by Jalil Lespert
For the intensity and immediacy of a performance through which the actor gave substance to a fascinating and believable character.

Special Prize Svizzeretto - Independent Spirit Award to RUGGERO DEODATO
 
The Fight Cult - IULM People’s Choice Award, which goes to an Italian film, was bestowed by the young audiences at IULM University on Claudio Amendola for his film Il permesso. 48 ore fuori produced by Claudio Bonivento and distributed by Eagle Pictures.
