In 1968, in the countryside around Florence, a man and a woman were murdered in their car by a mysterious killer whom the press would dub “the Monster of Florence”. That homicide would lead to a seemingly endless trail of blood: between 1968 and 1985, at least sixteen people, mostly young couples seeking privacy in the woods, would be killed in ways that were more and more brutal, and from 1974, even mutilations. The book tells the story and the that of the screen version of the case, with interviews and detailed analysis.
