  L'uomo nero
by Luca Poldelmengo

Piemme
Gabriele has never gotten a free ride, and has had to work extremely hard in his rise from a humble waiter to owner of a chain of luxury hotels. He will do anything to make it to the top, even commit a horrendous crime. Filippo has only his family, a wife and daughter he adores, for whom he has suppressed his dark side. But he is forced to get his hands dirty in order to guarantee them a better future. Marco has always been weak, dominated by an overbearing father, and has never chosen anything in life, not even his career in the police force. Until the murder of a loved one shakes him out of his torpor.

Luca Poldelmengo (Rome, 1973) wrote and directed several short films before writing the screenplay for Marco Martani’s Concrete Romance. In 2009, he made his literary debut with the noir tale Odia il prossimo tuo, winner of the Azzeccagarbugli Prize for Best Debut Novel. The book will be released in France by prestigious publishers Payot & Rivages, as part of their noir series Le salaire de la haine.
