Giampaolo Simi is the winner of the 2015 Scerbanenco Award

The Literary Jury for the Courmayeur Noir in Festival, composed of Cecilia Scerbanenco (President), Valerio Calzolaio, Luca Crovi, Loredana Lipperini, Sergio Pent, Sebastiano Triulzi, and John Vignola, in consideration of the shortlist of five finalists:

Romano De Marco, Città di polvere, Feltrinelli
Marcello Fois, Luce perfetta, Einaudi
Raul Montanari, Il regno degli amici, Einaudi
Giampaolo Simi, Cosa resta di noi, Sellerio
Grazia Verasani, Senza ragione apparente, Feltrinelli

has decided by a majority vote to bestow the 2015 Giorgio Scerbanenco - La Stampa Award for Best Italian Noir Fiction published in 2015 to:
Cosa resta di noi by Giampaolo Simi, Sellerio

motivating their decision as follows:
"For having placed a provincial Italian couple’s troubled relationship center-stage and described it with unsparing clarity, overcoming the formal constraints of the noir genre with a watchful, controlled narration that picks up on the characters’ most hidden motives."

The Jury also decided to bestow a Special Mention on:
Senza ragione apparente by Grazia Verasani, Feltrinelli

motivating its decision as follows:
"For the welcome return of the original female investigator from Bologna, grappling, this time around, with the emotionally-wrought world of teenagers."
