Detective Sinatra

On December 12, 1915, Frank Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, to a Sicilian father and a Ligurian mother. Eighty years later, he would hold his last live concert, topping off a brilliant, decades-long career in both music and film that turned him into an immortal icon of the 20th century. Twenty years after that last concert, Adrian Wootton, Chief Executive of Film London, has selected the Courmayeur in Noir Festival as the ideal setting for a masterclass in which he rivisited the legend through noir-colored glasses, looking at the controversy that swirled around Sinatra’s real life and his screen persona.
Below, you can download the unabridged text of Adrian Wootton’s essay "All The Way: Frank Sinatra".
