La macchinazione. Pasolini, la verità sulla morte

On the fortieth anniversary of Pasolini’s murder, David Grieco, a friend of the Italian writer and his collaborator, reconstructs the circumstances of a death still cloaked in mystery today in a book that is soon to be a film (in 2016). While the film pieces together the appalling complicity behind the crime, in the book the author re-examines every stage of a complex legal case, providing evidence, eyewitness reports, aspects of the investigation and its lingering ramifications in the present day.
David Grieco got his start in the film industry first as an actor in films by Zeffirelli, Pasolini and Bertolucci, then as a director’s assistant. He went on to direct documentaries and commercials and co-wrote two screenplays for Sergio Citti: Mortacci (1989) and I magi randagi (1996). He also wrote part of the script for Caruso Pascoski di padre polacco (1988) by Francesco Nuti. He was a long-time contributor to l’Unità, writing about music and film, and has published numerous books. In 2004 he wrote, directed and co-produced his first feature film Evilenko, based on his novel Il comunista che mangiava i bambini. It premiered at Courmayeur.
