Roberto Cimpanelli is a film director and distributor making his literary debut with this thriller about a bookseller in in via del Pellegrino in Rome, Ermanno D’Amore, a former police commissioner whose career was destroyed by a fatal error.
Roberto Cimpanelli was born and still lives in Rome. A film distributor and producer, he also directed two films, Un inverno freddo freddo, starring Cecilia Dazzi and Valerio Mastandrea (Silver Ribbon for Best Debut Filmmaker and a David di Donatello finalist) and Baciami piccina, starring Neri Marcorè, Vincenzo Salemme, and Elena Russo. His distribution company, Life International, secured the Italian release of films such as Sex, Lies and Videotape, Driving Miss Daisy, Dirty Dancing, and Fried Green Tomatoes. He also co-produced and distributed the film Dances With Wolves and chose the titles La casa and La casa 2 for the Sam Raimi films he distributed in Italy. La pazienza del diavolo marks his debut as a novelist.
