  Il metodo del coccodrillo
by Maurizio de Giovanni

Mondadori
When the bodies of three young boys are found, the only clue is a tissue soaked with tears. The newspapers nickname the killer “The Crocodile.” Impressed by his powers of observation, young substitute prosecutor Laura Piras decides to give the case to Inspector Lojacono, a Sicilian cop “exiled” to Naples after being accused of colluding with the Mafia.

Maurizio de Giovanni (Naples, 1958), author of numerous short stories, wrote four novels set in 1930s Naples featuring Commissioner Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi: Il senso del dolore (2007), La condanna del sangue (2008), Il posto di ognuno (2009) Il giorno dei morti (2010 Scerbanenco Prize finalist and winner of Corpi Freddi, Premio Camaiore di Letteratura Gialla and Premio Giuseppe Imbucci). In 2011 he published the fifth installment of the series, Per mano mia. Il Natale del Commissario Ricciardi, and more recently, Vipera.
