Music meets the noir genre, through an analysis of a number of film masterpieces from every age
In this master class, Adrian Wootton tackles the combination of musicals and film noir. Before the event on December 2nd, the program “Uno, due, tre…Festival!” sees the Cineteca Milano Arlecchino screen four masterpieces that have gone down in the annals of the musical genre. From Otto Preminger and his contemporary take on Carmen and Elvis Presley going all out in Jailhouse Rock, to a classic ripe for rediscovery like Francis Ford Coppola’s Cotton Club and a Broadway hit tweaked for the big screen like Chicago, starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Renée Zellweger.
