MAURIZIO TEMPORIN’S CINESTHESIAS

From December 3 through December 8, an exhibition of the artist’s work will be held at the IULM Contemporary Exhibition Hall, in collaboration with Noir in Festival.

There’s a common thread running through Maurizio Temporin’s career in art, film and literature: mystery, the ‘dark matter’ of film noir. His stories are not true, but could well be; they describe a counterfactual reality, a bit like Giorgio Scerbanenco’s tales of the dark underside of Milan in the 1960s. And his ‘Cinesthesias’ are the essence of noir, as their individual titles attest, all the more because they present visitors with a riddle to be solved: why do I have the feeling I’ve seen this film before?
