MENTE CRIMINALE

Killers, investigators, coroners, lawyers: the cast of characters in these stories is right out of a hit TV series. Yet the stories told here are special for a reason: they all really happened. "Everybody’s interested in real-life crimes, because there’s a dark side to human nature, awful yet fascinating; intriguing yet terrifying. If we project this shadow on the outside world we can handle it without being infected by it. We feel curiosity and anger at the killers, sadness and compassion for the victims, but we’ve got our parachutes at the ready so we’ll always have a soft landing." [Massimo Picozzi]

Massimo Picozzi, physician, psychiatrist and criminologist, is a leading expert in profiling. He is a consultant to the State Police and the Carabinieri, and as a psychiatric expert he has consulted on some of the most shocking criminal cases in Italy in recent years, from the murders in Novi Ligure and Cogne to the Bestie di Satana ritual murders and the killer Angelo Izzo, up to the recent death of Sarah Scazzi in Avetrana.  He collaborates with The European House-Ambrosetti and SDA Bocconi and oversees the Master’s Degree in Criminology and Economic Crime offered by the Sole 24 Ore Business School.
