Fargo

United States, 2014

An original adaptation of the film of the same name, which won two Academy awards, yet featuring completely different characters, the first season of Fargo concerns the goings-on in a town in Minnesota, Bemidji, in 2006. Lorne Malvo is a rootless, manipulative individual who meets a gullible insurance salesman from the heartland, Lester Nygaard, and changes his life forever. Hot on the trail of the duo's misdeeds is an ambitious young deputy, Molly Solverson, and Gus Grimly, a police officer in Duluth.

The first season of Fargo won two Emmy awards: Outstanding Miniseries and Outstanding 'Directing, which went to Colin Bucksey for the episode Buridan's Ass. Just like American Horror Story and True Detective, Fargo is an anthology series that presents new scenarios and characters each season.
