Il male non dimentica

Libya, August 31, 1969. Muammar Gheddafi takes power. That same night, Mike's mother, Italia Balistreri, falls off a cliff to her death. Suicide or murder? Rome, the summer of 2011. While Libya plunges into civil war, the brutal murder of a young woman, Melania Druc, and her daughter, means that Michele Balistreri, now the police commissioner in charge of homicides, will meet journalist Linda Nardi once again. The investigation will shatter the calm facade of a man who has tired of life, forcing him to confront a past that comes back to haunt him.

Roberto Costantini (1952, Tripoli), engineer and corporate consultant, is now a top administrator at Rome's LUISS University. Il male non dimentica is the third part of his Trilogia del Male featuring police commissioner Michele Balistreri, after Tu sei il male (best first novel at the Scerbanenco Awards, the Azzeccagarbugli al Romanzo Poliziesco Awards, and the Camaiore di Letteratura Gialla Prize) and Alle radici del male, a bestseller in Italy; the first two in the trilogy have been published in Europe and the U.S.
