K. Nel mare del tempo

A year has passed since the tragic denouement of the archaeological caper in which Katherine Sinclaire almost lost her life. The nightmare she had hoped was over now returns to haunt her from an unexpected direction. At the presentation for her first novel, a man shoots himself in front of Katherine, but not before hurling an ancient ring at her, with two names inscribed on it. Shaken by a series of murders and five enigmatic tomes, Katherine is once more drawn into a violent treasure hunt, hot on the trail of Angelica, a mysterious personage from the Middle Ages. Following the portraits of this woman, Katherine goes underground, into the tunnels used by heretics in flight tunnels designed by a strategist to protect one of the most amazing secrets in history.

"The idea behind this series," Elisabetta Cametti explains, " was to create a female character who was incisive, who could convey strong emotions and unconventional messages. But one woman alone was not enough to transmit values that could topple the time barriers, so I created a second female character, Angelica, who lived in the Dark Ages, as far as human knowledge is concerned."

Elisabetta Cametti (1970) was born in a small town at the foot of Mount Rosa. After graduating with a degree in economics, she pursued a career in marketing. Roughly twenty years on, having worked for major multinational companies, she decided to go back to her first love, writing. She made her debut as a novelist in 2013, with I guardiani della storia, which she has followed up with this year’s Nel mare del tempo, the second in a series featuring the fascinating Katherine Sinclaire.
